iTunes and Apple Store: Yes to Right of Withdrawal and Refund

Withdrawal and refund procedures are now available on iTunes and the App Store for mistaken purchases.

Purchases made on the App Store and iTunes from today onwards will be even safer: Apple has decided to fully activate the possibility of exercising the “right of withdrawal” on downloaded products.
It is learned that the Cupertino company has complied with current European regulations in these matters, thus allowing its users to change their minds in case of erroneous purchases.
The right of withdrawal can be requested within 14 days of downloading the multimedia material previously selected and paid for.
No reason will need to be specified for requesting the spent sum: it will be enough to select the item “Report a Problem”, and then indicate the desire to withdraw.
After a few days (minimum 5 and maximum 7), the previously mentioned sum will be credited back.
Generally, Apple will proceed automatically to accept the user’s legitimate request, but it is always good to consider that the company may carry out checks.
It is easy to imagine the scenario of requesting a refund for material that, after the first download, may have been copied elsewhere. Therefore, it is assumed that in repeated refund cases or in situations deemed “strange”, Apple may activate controls or at least evaluate the “credibility” of the request.

Certainly, it is difficult to establish how discretionary such a check might be, and it is probably premature to talk about it, given that the novelty is too fresh to have already produced similar cases.
Finally, it is good to consider that there is only one exception for which the right of withdrawal cannot be requested: iTunes Gifts. In this case, in fact, it is not possible to get any sum back once the relevant code has been used.
