Google has launched the new interface of the Publisher Center, the place to submit news sites for Google News. The Google Publisher Center features a completely redesigned interface and some new features.
Google’s new Publisher Center is now calledPublisher Center and it is the place where publishers can manage their sites on Google News.
The Publisher Center combines two existing tools, Google News Producer e and Google News Publisher Center
New Google News features for publishers
The new features of Publisher Center include a simpler way to manage publication identity, such as updating light and dark theme logos. It also provides an easier way for those who own multiple publications to organize and switch between them, especially with improved authorization settings that facilitate collaboration with colleagues.
Publishers can now point to their website section URLs instead of RSS to configure sections in Google News. Content for news will now come directly from the web, just like for Search.
The Publisher Center was launched in the four existing languages of the previous tools (English, Spanish, French, and German) and will soon expand to more languages.
What you can do in the Publisher Center
Below are the basic features publishers can use to customize their publication
- General Information: add basic information about the publication, details about your publication’s location, contact details, and distribution settings.
- Content: add content to your publication in the form of feeds, website URLs, or videos. Sections added in “Content” can enable your articles to be published in the Google News app.
- Verification: content ownership must be verified before the publication can be submitted for approval.
- Images: add logos that identify your publication to customize your presence on Google News.
- Ads: set up your AdSense/Ad Exchange account to monetize your feed-based content.
- Content Sales: if you submit content through sections, the “Content Sales” tab helps you sell content by defining pricing models and creating promotions.
- Advanced: the “Advanced” tab allows you to set up test groups and customize article styles.
- Review and publish: check the publication settings, identify issues, and publish to Google News.
