iTunes competition opens up: **Google** has presented the new **Google Play Music**, the new service for listening to music for free.
Together with the newNexus 4 e Nexus 10, Google took the opportunity to also introduce its new service for selling and listening to free songs and albums: it is launchingGoogle Play Music.
The competition this time is played on the ground of the success achieved since its debut by iTunes, proposing something decidedly very similar, only with a few years’ “delay”.
After all, it’s not justGooglethat has decided to enter this sector: the latest in chronological order is another giant, Amazon, which has launchedAmazon MP3 Store and Cloud Player.
The launch date ofGoogle Play Musicin Italy has already been set: the service will be operational starting from November 13, 2012, so in just a couple of weeks.
Initially, there will be 20,000 songs and tracks available, all free and streamable, as they are stored in the cloud.
With any device you have – from PC, to smartphone, to tablet – you will be able to listen to a large quantity of music.
Furthermore, the system will recognize music already present on the user’s connected devices to add it to their personal collection, naturally as long as the tracks are present in Google Play Music.
This function is called “match&scan” and resembles the equivalent offered by Apple, namelyiTunes Match.
; if the latter is paid, Google responds by offering it all for free.
However, there is still a big difference between the two services: iTunes has been offering movies for a long time, while at the moment there is no trace of them onGoogle Play Music.
