Google presents the new voice search system for iPhone and iPad: an open challenge to Siri.
In recent days, Google has been proposing many new features on multiple fronts, not only in terms of new devices but also in terms of new apps and functionalities.
The new voice search for iPhone and iPad makes its debut.
When technologies of this kind are applied to iOS devices, it’s impossible not to think of Siri, the voice assistant present on Apple devices updated to iOS 6.
The operation of Google’s voice search app for iPhone and iPad is extremely simple: all you have to do is tap the corresponding icon and select “Voice“.
You can then ask your question, and the system developed by Google will fetch and propose information by extracting it from the most relevant search results.
In addition to “simple” notions, voice search will also offer photos, videos, maps, routes, itineraries, shop addresses, and utilities, depending on the request made.
Naturally, for voice search to work, a connection is necessary; otherwise, the system – being offline – will not be able to find results.
Google thus intends to provide Apple device users with an alternative to Siri, offering a tool with which to have easy and direct access, relying on what has always been Google’s strength: the results returned by the search engine.
