“Apps for Tablets” arrives, a new section created on Google Play to suggest specific apps for tablets.
A small but interesting novelty on Google Play, Google’s store from which to download applications for devices running the Android operating system.
For a few hours now, the presence of a new section, called “Featured Android Apps for Tablets,” has been noticeable: this is a well-stocked collection of applications specifically for tablets or which are anyway optimized for these increasingly popular devices.
Currently, about 120 tablet-optimized apps can be found in this new section, but it’s a safe bet that the number will undoubtedly rise in the coming hours, as developers will certainly flag the tablet-optimized apps they have created.
Naturally, the flagged apps are not exclusively intended for tablets but also work well on smartphones.
However, the opposite is not always true, and for this very reason, the “Featured Android Apps for Tablets” section creates a list of apps that certainly work well and are displayed properly on larger screens, such as those of tablets.
This way, purchases and free downloads can be made with the assurance of subsequently having a truly high-performing and well-functioning app on the display of the tablet you are using.
It is, therefore, not a substantial or highly innovative novelty, but it is certainly a system that allows users to make their app purchase choices in a more functional, rapid, and intuitive way.
