Will Android Wear be compatible with iOS?

Google is reportedly working on a project to make Android Wear and iOS compatible.

Interesting news regarding the wearable sector and, more specifically, smartwatches.
According to very recent, wholly unofficial rumors, it’s important to emphasize right away, the Google team working on the Android Wear operating system is reportedly planning an environment for compatibility with iOS devices.
In this way, the operating system specifically designed for various Android wearable devices could easily and limitlessly communicate with various iPhones, iPads, and Apple devices.
A move into the smartwatch market even before the highly anticipated Apple Watch is released. Perhaps this is the key to Google’s study: at a time when Apple seems to be delaying the announcement and launch of its “super-connected intelligent watch,” Google arrives to fill this gap by allowing “Apple fans” to purchase and use an Android smartwatch, connecting it with Apple devices.
The rumor has been circulating online after the publication of an article on the French site 01net, which bets, precisely, on such a scenario.

However, there is a lack of official information from Google circles, and the next good opportunity to understand if work is indeed being done in this direction can only be the annual Google I/O conference, taking place in May.
The scenario would then be complete, as – if the rumors of recent weeks are confirmed – the Apple Watch should have already been launched, as its release is expected in April.
We await further updates on the matter.
