Free Wi-Fi at Poste Italiane offices now active: how to activate and use it?

Free Wi-Fi for everyone at major post offices in Italy: complete coverage coming soon.

New developments at Poste Italiane office counters: starting today, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi browsing.
This project is not entirely new: here on FullPress we reported on this initiative launched by Poste Italiane as early as 2011, but today a more widespread coverage has been implemented.

Poste Wi-Fi

Within a few months, 900 post offices will offer this service free of charge, with the aim of providing everyone with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

A proposal for “mass digitalization,” we could say, which would primarily support the most vulnerable segments of the population, as explained today by the CEO of Poste Italiane, Francesco Caio.
The intention to activate these free connection points is part of a broader corporate plan called “Poste 2020,” with the Wi-Fi project initially launching in Piedmont, which will serve as a “pilot region” with the rapid activation of 62 free Wi-Fi hotspots.

How to start using the Poste Wi-Fi connection?

As soon as the relevant office is equipped with this functionality, all you need to do is proceed with registration.
You will be asked for your mobile phone number, which you will use to browse, and you will immediately receive an SMS with the login credentials to use for browsing.

Poste Italiane Wi-Fi

Once you have entered the username and password sent by the system, you will be authenticated and from that moment on, you can use the free Wi-Fi connection offered by Poste Italiane on any occasion.
National coverage will be complete within the next three years.
