Sony has officially unveiled the new Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet: prices, release date, and technical specifications.
Dense days of new product presentations at WMC 2015 in Barcelona, among which Sony’s recently held one stands out.
The new Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet has indeed been unveiled, considered to date the thinnest tablet in the world.
Its thickness is only 6.1 millimeters, with a maximum weight of 393 grams (for the version with LTE module, while the Wi-Fi only version weighs even less, namely 389 grams).
The lion’s share at first glance – as with all devices of this type – is the screen, and in this case it is a 10-inch 2K display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The whole is framed by a stainless steel and mineral glass body.
Very powerful is the heart that allows the tablet to run: it is a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor accompanied by a good 3 GB of RAM. The internal memory available is 32 GB, expandable at your discretion using a microSD card up to a maximum of 128 GB. The chosen operating system is – in a rather predictable and obvious way – Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Also noteworthy is the camera system, which consists of two cameras: the main one is 8.1 megapixels, while the front (secondary) one is 5.1 megapixels.
Connectivity includes GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1 modules; as already mentioned at the beginning, a version with an attached LTE module will also be marketed.
The summary of the technical characteristics of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet concludes with the data relating to battery life: the device is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, which, according to the measurements declared by the manufacturing company, should ensure a duration of a good 17 hours of full video playback.
The tablet will arrive in stores starting next June; these are the figures required for purchase:
– Price of Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet WiFi version: 549 euros;
– Price of Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet LTE version: 649.
