ARCHOS today announced the new ARCHOS 50 Saphir with LOGIC INSTRUMENT. ARCHOS benefits from the extensive experience of its subsidiary Logic Instrument, a long-time leader in integrated and rugged mobile systems specifically developed for hostile environments. The ARCHOS 50 Saphir was designed to tackle the challenges of tough locations: its design is rugged, the display features Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is resistant to scratches, shocks, and dust, in addition to being waterproof and offering excellent quality features. This model will be officially presented in a few days at IFA 2016 and will be available for €219.99 starting in October 2016.

The smartphone also supports temperatures from -20°C to +55°C.
The device features HD resolution, for enjoying multimedia content even outdoors, and has a 1.5 GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6737 chipset processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128 GB via the integrated microSD card slot.
To meet the needs of professionals and ensure them maximum possible autonomy, the ARCHOS 50 Saphir boasts a long-lasting 5000 mAh battery and benefits from Mediatek Pump Express Plus technology, which reduces charging times by almost half.
The ARCHOS 50 Saphir has two cameras: a 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a 5 MP front camera, all to take high-quality photos whether working or having fun with family and friends.
The ARCHOS 50 Saphir runs on the base release of Google Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with full access to the Google Play Store and numerous apps.
This device offers features like Google Now and Doze, particularly suitable for those who work outdoors:
- Google Now, thanks to its digital assistant and a targeted focus on “context,” is able to determine the user’s location and what they require as a result.
- Doze further optimizes battery life by automatically activating deep sleep mode.
