Smart Working? The App to Manage Human Resources on the Go

Today, workers are no longer tied to a desk or an office and no longer spend the entire day in front of a computer. Furthermore, employees want to have technology at work that is very similar to what they already use in their personal lives.

Today workers are no longer tied to a desk or an office and no longer spend their entire day in front of a computer. Furthermore, employees want to have technology at work that is very similar to what they already use in their personal lives.

Companies therefore need to learn to manage the workforce in a new way, taking advantage of the tools offered by new mobile technologies to stay in touch with employees, improve productivity, acquire and retain competent staff, and grow the company. On the other hand, employees must be able to access all information concerning them, from payslips to holiday plans.

Companies know that employee engagement is a positive thing for business. In fact, a recent study (1) showed that business units with high employee engagement have 21% higher productivity. Therefore, as HR executives seek solutions to increase employee engagement, they must consider that they are increasingly globalized and mobile. One way to increase employee engagement is to consider Apps for mobile solutions. Mobile devices and connections have grown worldwide from 7.6 billion in 2015 to 8 billion in 2016 (2). Nevertheless, only 20% of companies use apps for the productivity of their employees and HR (3).

ADP – a global leader in Human Capital Management – has created the mobile application “Adp Mobile Solutions”, today used by more than 10 million employees in 175 countries. According to an ADP survey, workers asked to conveniently access payslips (80%), remaining holidays (73%), and holiday and leave requests (71%) from their mobile phones or tablets.

Through the app, users perform more than 1,000 HR transactions worldwide, and about 300,000 new users are added each month. All this has made it one of the most downloaded free work apps in the Apple Store and the most downloaded for Human Capital Management (HCM).

  • Users perform over 1,000 HR transactions per second
  • More than 300,000 new users added each month, on average
  • Employees have access to the application from over 175 countries worldwide
  • The free business app frequently ranks as number one in the Apple Store

“When employees are able to access valuable personal information anytime, anywhere, they can stay engaged when and how they want with company life. I am very pleased that we are able to help workers around the world be more proactive and make timely decisions,” saidDermot O’Brien, corporate vice president and chief human resources officer at ADP.

The ADP mobile solutions app can be used by employees to view payslips, company news, leave and holiday/leave requests, clock-in and clock-out times, balances, and timesheets. Managers can approve timesheets, monitor time off, and leverage ADP data and insights that can help them provide suggestions that can impact employees’ lives.

“Since we launched the ADP mobile solutions app in 2011, we have worked to make it data-rich, simple, and secure. We want both managers and employees to use it as their primary HR tool” – statedStuart Sackman, corporate vice president, Global Product and Technology at ADP during a Facebook LIVE on the official NASDAQ page – “We are so proud to see that the ADP mobile solutions app is frequently ranked first among free work apps in the App Stores and we will continue to improve it to maintain this position.”
