Nikon D7000 continues to be purchased: what is the secret of this digital SLR‘s success? Here are its technical features and the price of the Nikon D7000.
Nikon D7000 is the digital SLR that, even today, continues to be a sure success: released in 2010, for over a year, it remains a great camera, definitely in the high-end category.
First of all, it is noticeable how compact and overall lightweight it is: thanks to its magnesium alloy body.
As for the actual technical aspects, the Nikon D7000 features a Nikon DX format CMOS sensor with 16.2 million pixels and a 2,016-pixel RGB metering sensor.
Much attention is given to ISO sensitivity, which ranges from 100-6400, extendable up to 25,600 equivalent: this results in well-detailed photos with low noise. The EXPEED 2 image processing engine also contributes to this.
Another noteworthy feature is the Autofocus system with 39 focus points including 9 cross-type points in the center, closely linked with the pentaprism reflex viewfinder with approximately 100% coverage and 0.94x magnification.
The continuous shooting function records a sequence rate of 6 frames per second, with the possibility of reviewing and processing directly from the screen, a 3-inch (7.5 cm diagonal) TFT LCD monitor with reinforced glass and a 170° viewing angle.
The Nikon D7000 excels in photography but does not skimp on video features, as it is possible to record full HD (1080p) videos. Switching from camera mode to video mode is very simple, as a dedicated button has been provided to make the process particularly quick.
So much material has storage space with the memory cards that can be used: speaking in the plural is neither a mistake nor a generalization, since the Nikon D7000 is physically equipped with dual slots for SD memory cards.
This way you can make a backup copy on one of the two cards, for example; or you can set the “default” card to channel files of a certain format onto, leaving space for other files on the second card.
More than a year after its release, the Nikon D7000 continues to be a great SLR, offered at the price of 1399 euros at its launch with the “base” kit, but customizable with combinations of body and lenses.
