A chat, as well as the functionality for sending and receiving private messages, is reportedly coming to Instagram. If the rumors are confirmed, everything would be implemented by Christmas.
Instagram, the app focused on photos and image sharing, is gaining more and more traction.
From its debut on Apple devices, through its arrival on Android terminals, Instagram has achieved a growing number of registrations and users.
Its subsequent launch on Windows Phone was the “culmination” – so to speak – of the app’s widespread presence worldwide.
In recent months, the development team has moved in several directions, starting with the intention to implement the functionality of inserting short videos (very much in the style of Vine on Twitter) and then announcing the upcoming appearance of advertising on Instagram.
Alongside these innovations – the latter not exactly appreciated by users – others will soon be added, which, instead, would certainly give new momentum to this project.
We are indeed talking about the upcoming implementation of a chat service on Instagram, alongside the ability to send private messages to users.
Instagram’s social aspect is currently “measured” entirely in hearts (comparable to Facebook’s “Likes”) and in comments that can be left under every photo or video uploaded.
By Christmas, according to the latest rumors reported by the site GigaOm, it will be possible to interact privately between accounts on Instagram.
Not only that: a group chat would also be under study, this time however, usable in a public version.
No news is coming from the Instagram team regarding this: there has been no confirmation of these rumors, nor any denial, however, no one from headquarters has commented on these whispers that, if confirmed, could materialize in their complete form within the next month.
