Samsung has revealed its plans regarding the release of a new phablet, in some aspects very similar to the successful Note series.
It is called Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and is indeed a phablet, with the distinct feature of being dual SIM.
The natively available operating system is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and the support of 1.5 GB of RAM. The base internal memory is 8 GB, but as often happens, there is a slot available for a SD card to expand – up to a maximum of 64 GB – the storage capacity.
The standout feature will undoubtedly be the display: in this case, Samsung has decided to use a 5.25-inch HD with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
There are two cameras: the main one is 8 megapixels, while the front-facing one is 1.9 megapixels; the camera department is likely where the most significant improvements compared to previous models will be noted, while the rest of the technical specifications suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 is a phablet aimed at the mid-to-low market segment.
Regarding battery life, the battery is reasonably powerful: it is a 2,600 mAh battery.
Samsung has not yet revealed when the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will arrive in Italy and, more generally, in Europe, nor has any official price been announced: we will revisit this topic as soon as we have detailed news.
However, it is possible to hypothesize that the purchase price should not be particularly high, given that – as already mentioned – the technical specifications are not representative of the high-end segment.
