Advertising lands on Instagram : the app introduces videos and images. At the moment, this novelty will not affect Italian users.
Not even Instagram will escape the commercial logic of many free apps: advertising is indeed about to arrive on all accounts.
The news began to circulate in recent months, so this introduction was expected for some time; a post on the official Instagram blog now announces that some US accounts will be affected by the gradual introduction of advertising in these hours.
Opening Instagram, therefore, in addition to photos from people or companies you follow, you will also find purely advertising images.
Videos will also sometimes be included, short commercials designed specifically for viewing via the app.
The staff working on these innovations promises that the introduction will be gradual and that it will affect – apparently – only prestigious brands.
In fact, great emphasis is placed on the concept that advertising will not be “indiscriminate” but will be carefully evaluated, in order to offer high-quality advertising photos and videos.
Finally, it seems that Instagram subscribers will be able to choose to exclude certain advertisements and, by doing so, will be able to report images with unwelcome content.
In this way, the staff will be able to act in a targeted manner, improving the quality of advertisements offered in the future.
It has not yet been announced when ads will arrive on Instagram for Italian smartphone users, but for the moment, it seems that the experimentation will only take place in the United States.
