Google introduces the ability to purchase Google Play gift cards online.
Very interesting news regarding the functioning of Google Play. The Google staff has indeed officially announced a new “product”, currently available only in the United States.
These are the brand new Google Play gift cards, available on the American platform in various denominations.
In fact, it is a genuine top-up to give credit to friends and family, in view of future purchases on the reference store for Android users.
With these new funds – real spendable money – you can therefore proceed with the purchase of apps, ebooks, games, and featured and catalog products on the Google Play Store.
In this way, for example, even those who do not have a credit card or a PayPal account linked to their Google Play account can have credit.
However, it is worth considering that the person who wants to give a gift card of this kind will instead necessarily have to purchase and pay for it using electronic currency accepted on the store.
Obviously, gift cards can also be used to “top up” your personal account, not just given to third parties.
As for the available denominations, we highlight those of 10 dollars, 15 dollars, 20 dollars, 25 dollars, 50 dollars, and finally 100 dollars.
It is not yet possible to indicate an arrival date for this novelty in Italy, but we are led to believe that, after the launch and “testing” period in the United States, Europe will soon see the extension of this new purchasing method.
At the moment, in fact, Google Play gift cards exist, but they can only be purchased offline, mostly from large chains, in denominations of 15, 20, and 50 euros.
The virtual gift card, however, solves problems not only of availability but also of distance, in the case of people to be gifted who live far away.
The trend seems to be set: Google is certainly not the first giant to launch gift cards to provide credit as gifts.
From Amazon to Netflix – to name just a couple of big names – gift cards could become perfect Christmas gifts this year.
