Here comes Blekko, the search engine that promises to be more selective than Google. Precise searches, accurate results, and no spam: these are Blekko’s ingredients, provided without algorithms.
Blekko is the new search engine capable of sifting through the web to provide truthful and zero-spam search results. Blekko’s richness is not an algorithm – Google’s intangible “magic formula” – but rather it’s a real and present richness: the users. Yes, indeed, it will be users who indicate whether a search result is relevant or not, if a site owner uses incorrect stratagems or if, instead, the work is done well and is user-friendly.
A rigorous approach but with a social perspective, in which the protagonist is the internet user themselves. This certainly does not shield from the risks of “manipulated information,” so to speak. Battles between competitors are already looming through preferences for their own site or rejections in the eyes of Blekko, as sometimes happens with projects of this type.
The beta testing of Blekko is already available for those who wish to contribute and try their hand at reporting correct search results.
