Facebook Messenger becomes standalone: can be used without an FB account

Facebook Messenger will live its own life: it can be used even without a Facebook account, but only with a phone number.

Very interesting news regarding an app born from a “branch” of Facebook. The Facebook Messenger application is in fact about to detach itself completely from the social network.
The news is entirely official and affects a large number of people worldwide; this figure is however – and potentially – destined to grow, given the decision made in recent days by the Facebook staff.
It has in fact been decided to make Facebook Messenger completely autonomous. This means that anyone can download it, register for the service, and start using it, even without ever having opened a Facebook account.
Definitely a revolution worthy of note, since the tool thus becomes completely comparable to its most used and widespread competitor: WhatsApp.
The only completely indispensable element to be able to use Facebook Messenger, even without linking it to a Facebook account, will be your phone number.
At this point, the mechanism will be the same as many other similar communication apps: you will be able to interact directly with those who – in turn – have downloaded Facebook Messenger, by scanning the numbers in your contacts and verifying that they are in the large Facebook Messenger database.

At this point, you can start communicating, with all the available features: you can obviously exchange text messages but also photos, videos, group chats, voice messages, video calls, stickers, and more.
At the time of writing, the novelty is already in effect only in some selected countries for the experimentation phase: these are the United States, Canada, Venezuela, and Peru. In any case, the service, configured in this new way, is expected to launch worldwide in the coming weeks, including our country.
