Facebook: new “reactions” emoticons arrive alongside “Like”

Facebook has introduced “reactions,” little faces to express feelings beyond “Like.”

It has been talked about at length and repeatedly over the years, and here is a great innovation on Facebook: the integration of moods that go beyond “Like”.
Since yesterday, Italian members of the blue social network have also had the opportunity to notice the appearance of new icons alongside the traditional thumbs-up used to express preferences.
Therefore, as anticipated some time ago on FullPress.info, there is no trace of the much-heralded “Dislike” button; instead, it has been decided to enrich this platform feature with more than one icon.
By hovering the cursor over “Like” or holding down your finger on the thumbs-up (if you are using the Facebook app on a smartphone or tablet), you will notice the appearance of several smileys.
The first is the traditional “Like”, although with a slightly refreshed graphic; the second is a heart; the third is a smiley face laughing out loud; the fourth is a face full of surprise; the fifth is a face with a tear; finally, the sixth is a smiley with an angry expression.
A reduced but already quite exhaustive range of emotions that users might feel when reading a status or looking at a posted video or image.
Sammi Krug, Product Manager of Reactions, announced that the release of these reactions comes after about a year of targeted work; 15 smiley faces had been developed, but in the end – after experiments, reasoning, and testing, it was decided to reduce their number and try to make only universally recognizable emoticons available.

Anyone will therefore be able to use the one that best suits their needs; those who have posted content will receive various notifications of actions taken by their contacts, but – at the final display stage – they will notice the appearance of only the three most used reactions accompanying that post.
Certainly, for the Facebook audience, this innovation will allow them to express their feelings in a more detailed way – albeit only with a small graphic sign – compared to what scrolls by on the timeline.
