A few weeks ago, Canon Ixus 510 HS was presented and stands out for its touchscreen display. Here are its price and features.
Canon has recently introduced a new compact camera, the Canon Ixus 510 HS. The first feature that immediately stands out is the presence of a touchscreen which, far from being similar to many other devices housed in compact cameras, in the case of the Canon Ixus 510 HS distinguishes itself by occupying the entire rear of the digital camera with an 8.0 cm diagonal. It is – in simple terms – what we would call “full touch” if we were talking about a smartphone.
All the essential buttons for the camera’s operation have therefore been placed on the top edge. Despite this, the Canon Ixus 510 HS manages to maintain a linear, simple, and elegant appearance, without overdoing the design.
Regarding the more technical details, it will be interesting to know that the sensor is a 16-megapixel CMOS (1/2.33″), while the optical zoom is 12x with a 28 mm wide-angle lens: a notable feature, contained within an overall thickness of only 19.8 millimeters.
It is also possible to extend the zoom up to 21x, thanks to the function called “Canon ZoomPlus.”
By pressing the dedicated button, you can easily switch from photo shooting mode to video mode, being able to record Full HD (1080p) movies with stereo audio.
The functionality that allows rapid sharing of photos and videos, without the use of cables or external storage, is very useful and interesting: everything can be done quickly thanks to the integrated Wi-Fi system.
The super-compact Canon Ixus 510 HS camera has a price of approximately 380 euros and is already on sale in white or black.
