Asus Padfone 2: official price and release date

The launch event of the new hybrid called took place in Milan Asus Padfone 2: halfway between a smartphone and a tablet, it combines the best features of both devices in a single device.
There are many differences compared to the first Padfone model: this new Padfone 2, in fact, is more powerful and introduces several hardware innovations, creating a product that definitely fits into the high-end price range but with equally high performance.
Starting with the good battery life of 2140 mAh, additionally supported by a 5000 mAh Padfone Station that extends its duration, at least in video playback mode.
As for the processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core 1.5 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU was chosen, accompanied by the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. For those who want Jelly Bean, the update is expected in the coming months, but currently Ice Cream comes natively on board the Padfone 2.
The RAM is 2 GB while for internal storage there will be three options: 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB. In any case, extra space is available thanks to 50 GB free for two years with the ASUS Cloud service.
Regarding the display, it features a 4.7-inch Super IPS with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels (312 ppi).

Also noteworthy is the main camera with a whopping 13 megapixels, LED flash, and autofocus; including the ability to record HD video at 720p at 60 fps.
The front camera, instead, is 1.2 megapixels, suitable for video calls.
Regarding the overall weight, the Padfone 2 weighs 135 grams which rises to 649 grams when used in combination with the Padfone 2 and Padfone Station.
The device release is scheduled for the end of the year in white and black colors and, as for the price of Asus Padfone 2, it is said to be 799 euros for the 32 GB version and 899 euros for the 64 GB version, keeping in mind that this price also includes the Pad Station.
During the event in Milan, the price of the 16 GB version was not disclosed.
