Asus officially presents Eee Pad Transformer Prime, a tablet with high-quality performance, and a range of features unprecedented in the tablet sector until today.
Slim but with great capabilities,Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the new tablet from Asus, with removable Asus docking keyboard but above all with quad-core nVidia Tegra 3 processor, an absolute novelty not only for a device from this company but for the entire tablet sector globally.
The operating system isAndroid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the screen is a 10.1-inch Super IPS LED-backlit multitouch with Gorilla Glass warranty, it has two cameras (the main one is positioned on the back and is 8 Megapixel with LED flash) and very compact dimensions: 8.3 millimeters at its thickest, all enclosed in only 586 grams of weight.
Handy, discreet, light yet powerful and durable, starting with the battery life that promises good performance – we are talking about a good 12 hours – especially when combined with those of the mobile docking which could increase continuous usage to 18 hours, without the need for a recharge cycle.
Certainly thanks to the processor which ensures greater speed but reduced consumption, with its 4 cores and the GeForce GPU supported by a whopping 12 cores.
It is therefore a high-end tablet that will be sold starting December in America (in Italy it will arrive at the beginning of 2012), in a 32 GB or 64 GB version, in both cases with 1 GB of RAM.
The Transformer Prime keyboard deserves its own space, because it is not just a “tail” or a mere functional accessory for more comfortable typing: it is a small processor in itself, given that its internal memory can be expanded and used for storage.
The keyboard has a price to consider as extra, it is not included in the basic package.
Speaking of figures, let’s quantify: in the United States the price of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be $499 (32 GB) or $599 (64 GB).
The docking station – keyboard, on the other hand, will be sold at a price of 149 Euro, with a USB 2.0 port, SD card reader, and a second battery.
The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime including the docking keyboard is available at the price of €599 (VAT included).
