Asus Eee Reader DR900 is the new ebook reader from Asus with a 9-inch display: for this feature, it is currently unique in the world.
Asus has announced the new ebook reader Eee Reader DR900 and, at the same time, has entrusted its distribution to E-Motion.
The most evident peculiarity of the Eee Reader DR900 ebook reader is its screen: it is a 9-inch touchscreen display. This means that, compared to the average ebook readers currently on the market, the Eee Reader DR900 provides a reading space approximately 2.25 times larger than a 6-inch screen. Yet, this has not significantly affected the weight, which stands at 440 grams, thus providing maneuverability and comfort during reading.
It is worth noting that the Eee Reader DR900 is equipped with text-to-speech technology: you can not only read but also listen to selected texts.
The Eee Reader DR900 is compatible with txt, ePub, PDF, FB2, ZIP/CBZ, gif, png, jpeg, bmp, and mp3 formats: an ebook device, therefore, but not only, as it can display images, provided you are aware that they will be displayed in grayscale. Additionally, being able to listen to music, the Eee Reader DR900 includes headphones (with a mini jack) and speakers.
It features Wi-Fi, runs on Linux, and has 2GB of internal memory (enough space for approximately 5000 titles), which can be further expanded using Micro SD cards.
The price of the Eee Reader DR900 in Italy is approximately 319 euros, including VAT.
