Amazon MP3 Store and Cloud Player in Italy: prices and how it works

Amazon’s strategy of expansion of services to offer also to Italian users continues: since this morning the online music purchase service called Amazon mp3 Store.
is now available. More than one million albums are already in the catalog, but of course, you can also buy single tracks, with average prices of 99 cents per song.
As for albums, the starting price is 5.99 euros, referring already to a certain level of discography, such as that of R.E.M. or Mark Knopfler, to mention two examples announced by Amazon itself.
The mp3s available on Mp3 Store can be purchased through the web or through the dedicated Android app.
It is possible to search for a specific track or album but also to be guided by the suggestions of the day and the personalization of options.
It should be noted that there are no limitations since these are DRM-free mp3s.
At the same time, to offer more and more storage space, Amazon has decided to also launch the Cloud Player.

service. Tracks purchased on Amazon Mp3 Store as well as iTunes or other similar services can be uploaded. All the music library one owns can find space on Cloud Player, allowing you to always carry every track with you even offline.
This is possible thanks to the “scan & match” technology that allows Cloud Player to analyze all the tracks present on your devices via iTunes or Windows Media Player, thus finding the exact match in the Amazon catalog, thereby enabling saving an automatic copy at 256 kbps.
The service is available on Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, as well as on any type of Android device or on iPhone and iPod Touch. Naturally, this also applies to PC and Mac.
Every mp3 purchased on Amazon Mp3 Store is automatically saved on Cloud Player as well, so you always have a backup copy.
Two versions are available for Cloud Player: one is called “Premium” and allows the storage of about 250,000 tracks, excluding those purchased on Amazon which are not counted. Its price is €24.99 per year.
The free, on the other hand, allows the storage of 250 items instead.
