Twitter: More Space for Photos and Videos with Visual Tweets

Twitter is heading towards “visual tweets” and placing increasing emphasis on photos and videos.

The strength of Twitter has always been its speed and the ability to be concise within the 140 characters available.
These are undoubtedly the distinctive features of the microblogging-based social network; features that are now seeing a restyling, judging by the latest news coming from the United States.
It is now certain that Twitter, on the verge of its stock market listing, is determined to add more graphical elements to users’ tweets, putting much more emphasis on images.
Until today, these elements were also present on the platform, but to view them, one had to click on the link provided by the system for inserting each photo.
On the official Twitter blog, it is explained, therefore, that very soon images will be shown directly on screens, exactly as has been the case on Facebook from the beginning.

Twitter will therefore insert photo and video previews directly into the timeline, to make everything more “visual and engaging,” as stated by Michael Sippey, vice president of product at Twitter.
The “visual tweets” – this is the name given by the development team to the new feature – are therefore about to invade the monitors of social network subscribers, who, in this way, are showing a desire to change their skin – at least in part.
