New Android Market with Streaming Movies and Ebooks

The Android Market opens up to streaming movies and ebooks: the novelty is already in effect in the United States, awaiting its arrival on the screens of European Android smartphones.

The Android Market is expanding and, alongside the more traditional apps for Android smartphones, it is now including streaming movies and ebooks among the products available for download.
The new feature has already arrived on the US Android Market and will likely be extended to the European region, including Italy, in the coming weeks.
Naturally, the launch of Google+ could not fail to influence the Android Market, as these are all Google-branded products: it appears that an integrated system is already under study to channel download preferences on Android Market directly to Google’s new social network.
The revamped Market is optimized for smartphones based on Android 2.2 and later versions, and also becomes a tool to show users which applications are most downloaded or most searched for in the store. In practice, a restyling of the interface has been carried out, and this will be the first novelty that Italian users will notice.
Payment and purchase procedures have also been simplified, and regarding the average prices for streaming movies for rent, we are talking about $1.99.
To access rentals, movie playback, and ebook downloads, you will need to link your market account to a @gmail.com email address.
Here is a presentation video of the new Android Market, while we await all the new features to become available in Italy as well.
