Amazon tablet coming soon: previews ahead of release

Autumn could bring big news from Amazon: a tablet would be ready for release in October. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal, although nothing has been revealed by the e-commerce company yet.
Just a few days ago we talked about Story HD, Google’s ebook reader that could threaten the dominance of Amazon’s Kindle; today comes this tasty piece of news that, if confirmed, would lead Amazon to enter the large and potential market of tablets, lively but overshadowed by the dominance of Apple’s iPad.
According to the very first rumors, the screen of the Amazon tablet should have a diagonal of about 9 inches and most likely should be based on Android.
Like the first iPad model, it would be lacking a camera.
In the Amazon tablet would therefore converge not only ebooks and content already downloadable from the e-commerce platform but also all the apps available on Android Market, revamped right now with new content and a new interface.
While not directly involved and entrusting its study to an Asian manufacturer, Amazon should also own the tablet’s design.
Not much else is known about the future Amazon tablet, not even its likely price, a detail that is instead garnering a certain interest from potential users.
If all of this were confirmed, markets could see the first pieces of the Amazon tablet as early as October: not an accidental date at all.
It is well known, in fact, that a strong positive wave to sales comes precisely in the pre-Christmas period. Exactly during those weeks, not by chance, Apple’s iPad also benefited from great success, becoming a gift (or self-gift) to find under the tree.
The strategy is classic and now established, it only remains to understand if indeed a new tablet is under study and above all how much and how it could challenge the first iPad.
