Microsoft Zune to close on November 15: alternatives or refunds

The Microsoft Zune music streaming platform will permanently close on November 15. Redmond offers two alternatives: switching to another service or a refund for existing subscriptions.

Microsoft has decided in these hours to communicate globally the closure of a service: it is Microsoft Zune.
The music streaming platform will no longer be active and accessible starting from November 15, 2015, the date set for the total closure.
Born in the wake of the commercialization of the excellent Zune music players, the online service thus reaches its end, no longer allowing the download, purchase, and listening of music.
Microsoft – in announcing this closure – immediately hastens to reassure all users who have an active paid subscription.
The sums spent will not be lost in any way, as from the Redmond headquarters two alternative solutions have already been found.
The first option for Zune Music Pass owners is to “move” to Groove, another music streaming service. In parallel, you will be transferred to the “Groove Music Pass” subscription, at the price of $9.99 per month, continuing to be able to use any sums still available on the Zune pass.

The second proposed option is the refund of any outstanding amounts: it is legitimate for paying users to decide not to switch to Groove. In this case, therefore, the money still available can be requested and will effectively be refunded.
naturally, an explicit request must be made before Microsoft Zune is no longer accessible, i.e., before November 15, 2015.
To allow subscribers to decide calmly and potentially migrate to Groove with ease,Microsoft has set up a support pagewhere all the necessary explanations are provided, in great detail.
