From today Google Drive can integrate with Microsoft Office thanks to a dedicated plug-in.
Google Drive expands its usability and integration possibilities with major programs, becoming a new element that can be used during work sessions with Microsoft Office.
On the official blog dedicated by Google to Google Drive, a post has indeed been published announcing the availability of a plug-in that allows you to open documents Word, Excel, and PowerPoint stored in Drive and, at the end of the work, save the changes directly to Drive.
The main advantage is that – when interacting in real-time with a team working on the same document – you can make changes immediately, via Google Drive, making them visible and valid for everyone.
The other positive point is that, also in real-time, the document drafted and modified with the Office suite will be received via Google Drive, on any device: from a desktop PC to a tablet, and even a smartphone.
Once the Google Drive plug-in for Microsoft Office is downloaded – it is necessary to do so via the official page https://tools.google.com/dlpage/driveforoffice – the mechanism just explained will be integrated and can be used at the user’s discretion, in any circumstance.
When you want to save the Office document you are working on, in fact, you can select the most relevant option, choosing whether to proceed with a routine save valid only on the document itself and therefore on your device’s memory, or if you can save directly to Google Drive.
Everything will happen very simply, linearly, and intuitively.
