iPhone 4s: Battery Issues with Autonomy and Duration

The iPhone 4s battery reportedly suffers from excessively poor autonomy problems, according to several reports already received by customer support.

In the wake of the iPhone 4s release in stores, the first problems have emerged, particularly concerning the battery‘s performance. More precisely, an issue of excessively short battery life is becoming apparent, leading to poor energy charge duration. What is the origin of this problem? At Apple‘s headquarters, investigations are already underway, as the causes are not yet known. The most likely hypothesis is that there is high energy consumption due to the function related to time zones. It is probable that the battery is affected by this, as to automatically propose the correct time zone, the iPhone 4s is forced to constantly track the device’s location by querying the cellular towers. It is no coincidence that some users have already found that disabling the location function has decidedly benefited the battery, allowing it to last at least until the end of the day. This is likely the cause of the problem, and therefore it is possible to avoid this excessive battery usage simply by going to the menu under “Location“, entering “System Services“, and then disabling the setting “Set Time Zone“. It is likely that Apple will soon be able to provide a definitive solution to the issue, as it is understood that a certain number of users who have reported battery autonomy problems have already been contacted by the support service to determine with certainty what is happening to the devices and how to remedy it.
