Huawei’s new smartphone, highly anticipated by mobile enthusiasts, has been unveiled. It’s the P9 and P9 Plus with Leica cameras for color and black-and-white images.
The new smartphone Huawei P9 a 5.2-inch and Huawei P9 Plus a 5.5-inch have been presented. Both feature a dual camera resulting from the agreement with Leica, who have certified them.
The camera of the new high-end Huawei device has a 12-megapixel camera that is flanked by a second 12-megapixel camera that has only a black and white sensor. The two cameras used in combination improve the contrast ratio in photos by up to 50 percent (the monochrome camera has no RGB filter, so it is able to capture more light). The device also has a third, 8-megapixel camera, for selfie functions.
Regarding the smartphones, both the P9 and the P9 Plus have a very elegant aluminum design. The display should help alleviate some of the flaws of the previously existing 3000 mAh and 3400 mAh. Both smartphones are powered by a Kirin 955 octa-core processor (four 2.5GHz Cortex-A72, four 1.8GHz Cortex-A53) and come with 64GB of standard storage.Huawei P9 has 3GB of RAM, while Huawei P9 Plus has a full 4GB of RAM. On European models of the smartphone, therefore also on those that will arrive in Italy, a microSD slot has been provided for expansion, while on the Chinese market the smartphone has been equipped with a second microSIM port.
Huawei has reinforced the battery capacity (up to 3,000mAh), partly resolving an “Achilles’ heel” repeatedly highlighted by smartphone users. It seems the manufacturer has focused on useful aspects instead of frills that add nothing to performance.

The two devices will go on sale in Europe and the Middle East from April 16, with these prices:
