The Huawei Mediapad is hitting the market with Android 4.0: this is the biggest news concerning the new Huawei tablet. The new colors are attractive and the price is interesting.
CES 2012 brought unexpected news for those awaiting details on the release of the 10-inch Huawei Mediapad tablet: at the event, the company took the opportunity to announce that the device will launch in a brand new version.
Despite previous assumptions, the Huawei Mediapad tablet will feature Android 4.0 instead of Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
Initially, it was stated that the tablet would be released with the latter operating system and only later be updated by the user – at a date not precisely indicated, and therefore not certain – to Android 4.0.
This option has apparently been discarded from the outset, as the latest version of the Android operating system will be native to the new Huawei Mediapad right from the start.
Technical specifications remain confirmed: the processor will be a robust Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core 1.2 GHz, the main camera will be 5 megapixels with an integrated geotagging system, autofocus, and of course an LED flash, while the front camera will be 1.3 megapixels.
Finally, there is also news regarding colors: the 7-inch “little sister” version will also be available in bronze, black, and hot pink, as can be seen by browsing the photo gallery attached to this article.
The price of the Huawei Mediapad Android 4.0 is expected to remain below 400 euros, but more precise indications in this regard will be released closer to its European launch, likely within March.
