How to block and unblock a contact on WhatsApp

Sometimes it may happen that you decide you want toblock a contact on WhatsApp. The reasons can be many, but the solution is not irreversible, so knowinghow to block a contact on Whatsapp and especially how to subsequentlyunblock them can be useful.

Here, then, ishow to block a contact on WhatsApp using an iPhone:
When you receive a message from the person in question, at the top of the conversation window, you will see the “Block” button. Very simple.

If, on the other hand, you want to block a contact regardless of receiving a message, you just need to go to WhatsApp’s “Settings” menu, choose Chat Settings, and then “Blocked”. A screen will appear here, at the top of which is a button with the “+” symbol: by tapping it, your contacts will open, and from here you can select the contacts to block. It is important, once the selection is complete, to press the “Done” button.

Tounblock a contact with an iPhone, instead, you will need to return to the list of Blocked contacts from the menu mentioned above and then select “Edit”. Then you will need to tap the prohibition symbol to the left of the contact and select “Delete”. The contact will then be unblocked.

After opening the app, you will need to go to the Chat. From here, you will need to open the Menu, go to Settings, select “Contacts”, and then “Blocked contacts”.
From here you can see the list of all blocked contacts or you can add the contact to block (at the top right).

If, on the other hand, the contact to block is not in your phone’s contact list, you just need to click on “Block” at the top of the screen displaying the message received from the unknown number.
Tounblock a contact, on the other hand, the procedure is even simpler: just press and hold the name of the contact of interest for a few seconds and select “Unblock”.

It’s good to know that when you block a contact on WhatsApp, messages will not be sent or received at all (by either party).

The blocked contact will also no longer see our last access time on WhatsApp, nor our profile picture.
When the contact is unblocked, you will not receive any messages sent during the blocking period.
