Fujifilm GFX 50R, mirrorless camera

FUJIFILM GFX 50R has masterfully interpreted the quality potential of Large Format thanks to the image sensor it houses, of 51.4 MP (43.8mm x 32.9mm), which is approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor (image sensors measuring 36mm × 24mm).

Starting today, it will also surprise with its cost, which has become “compact and lightweight” like its body. FUJIFILM GFX 50R continues to amaze and since May has been on sale at the price indicated and suggested retail price of 3,575 euros including VAT, that is, high quality at an accessible cost.

FUJIFILM is thus preparing to bring a strategic revolution to the sector, making Large Format even more competitive and sought after for documentary, commercial, storytelling, and narrative photography.

When FUJIFILM introduced the GFX system, it brought an unexpected way of conceiving and utilizing the power of Large Format to the market, expanding its potential to photographic fields where it had not been possible to use it until then, giving the photographer a lightweight, compact, reliable product with which to shoot even outdoors, outside a photo studio. 

GFX 50R, with a rangefinder-style design, embodies the evolution of Large Format, presenting itself as the perfect balance between maximum quality and portability, the ideal tool for landscape, documentary, and portrait photographers, meaning the right combination of a high-performance sensor, ease of use, limited bulk, in a weather-sealed and resistant body, compatible with all types of flash.

The lightweight body, weighing approximately 775g (operating weight including battery and recording media) with a thickness of only 66.4mm, is made of magnesium alloy and is sealed in 64 points to ensure resistance to dust and atmospheric agents and the ability to be used at temperatures down to -10 °C.

The rangefinder-style design allows you to directly observe the subject of the photo, while with the other eye you look through the viewfinder. This allows you to control and perceive the real atmosphere.

The GFX 50R supports the tethering software “HS-V5 for Windows” and “Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe® Photoshop®” and “Capture One Pro (FUJIFILM)”, to be fully utilized in commercial and fashion photography studio sessions. Furthermore, it supports Bluetooth® “low energy” technology. Captured images can be easily and quickly transferred to smartphones and tablets via the FUJIFILM Camera Remote app.

The GFX 50R, with all its power and reliability, is the camera used by Alberto Buzzanca, Simone Sbaraglia e Marco Urso, three X-Photographers who, in their personal projects developed in different fields, have been able to fully harness the maximum quality of large format, which is now a necessary system and tool in their photographic kit.
