ASUS announces AMD B550 chipset motherboards, a new lineup that brings the potential of PCI Express 4.0 within everyone’s reach and offers innovative solutions such as WiFi 6, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, high power delivery, increased DRAM speed, BIOS Flashback, and AI noise-canceling technology support.

The new noise-elimination technology acts as an advanced filter on the microphone, eliminating background noise for crystal-clear communication.

ROG Strix B550-E Gaming

ASUS has crafted ROG Strix B550-E Gaming with AMD’s high-performance processors and multi-expansion card configurations in mind. The AM4 socket is flanked by 14 + 2 power stages for reliable performance even under sustained multi-core CPU loads, while SafeSlot PCIe x16 supports multi-GPU setups in SLI™ or CrossFireX configurations.

Six fan headers and dedicated headers for AiO pumps and water-cooling pumps allow for simple to advanced builds. Q-Fan controls with automatic fan-speed detection simplify keeping temperatures and noise levels low. Dual M.2 slots can accommodate SSDs up to 110 mm in length, both covered by heatsinks to prevent thermal throttling under intense loads. Strix B550-E Gaming also features 2.5 Gbps Ethernet controller, WiFi 6 with Intel technology, and Bluetooth 5.1 support. 

USB connectivity is particularly abundant on Strix B550-E: three USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectors (one Type-C and two Type-A), plus a generous number of USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports. ASUS has included a front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector compatible with the latest cases.

The high-end SupremeFX S1220A audio chip is accompanied by a convenient USB-C port for automatic signal type detection, which can then be used for both Type-C audio devices and standard USB connectivity. Four RGB headers are available in total: two standard and two Gen 2 with per-LED control, reduced latency, and automatic configuration. BIOS FlashBack is also present for firmware updates without a CPU and FlexKey button reconfiguration. 

ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (Wi-Fi)

ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (Wi-Fi) provides an excellent starting point for those seeking a performance-oriented motherboard. The 12 + 2 power stage design is suitable for top Ryzen chips, while ProCool 8 + 4-pin auxiliary power connectors ensure constant and stable power delivery.

This model includes Intel I255-V 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connectivity and WiFi 6 support via an Intel AX200 adapter, as well as an advanced audio experience thanks to SupremeFX S1220A. For customization, standard and Gen2 RGB LED strips can be added, all with full Aura Sync support.

ROG Strix B550-I Gaming

ROG Strix B550-I Gaming is designed for small builds with big ambitions. The Mini-ITX form factor makes room for a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, but the compact form factor has other advantages. Strix B550-I Gaming can support compatible DIMM modules up to 5100 MHz and beyond. The 8 + 2 VRM stages are perfectly suited for 3rd Gen Ryzen chips. Active cooling on the VRMs and an eight-pin connector with our ProCool II design ensure that power delivery remains consistently stable.

The pre-installed I/O panel features USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and Type-A ports, an Intel I225-V 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connector, and an Intel AX200 WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 adapter. Small builds are more likely to have fast external storage connected, so ASUS engineers have added a front-panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 connector for maximum compatibility with the latest cases. The 3.5mm connectors are all LED-illuminated in unique colors for easy identification when plugging in speakers, headphones, or microphones. There is also a USB-C audio port with noise-filtering for corresponding microphones and headsets.

ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus

ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus features an 8 + 2 DrMOS VRM design and several large heatsinks over the VRM, chipset, and M.2 slots, ensuring all components remain at low temperatures, especially under load. The main PCIe 4.0 x16 slot is supported by SafeSlot reinforcement for heavier graphics cards, while a ProCool auxiliary connector offers extra peace of mind when using power-hungry CPUs.

Dual M.2 slots both accommodate drives up to 110 mm long, while the duet of PCIe x16 slots supports CrossFireX configurations. The Realtek S1200A audio codec on this model is further enhanced by custom DTS support for 3D surround sound virtualization from headphones, bringing compatible movies and games to life with precise positional audio. The TUF aesthetic can be further enhanced with one Gen 2 RGB LED header and two standard ones. 

TUF Gaming B550M-Plus (Wi-Fi)

ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus (Wi-Fi) utilizes many of the features of TUF Gaming B550-Plus and reconfigures them in a smaller microATX footprint. The main difference is that one of the M.2 slots accommodates standard 80 mm devices instead of longer 110 mm drives. In return, this model offers a more attractive price point to match its smaller size.

TUF Gaming B550M-Plus is available in two variants: with or without an Intel AX200 WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 controller and antennas. Regardless of the choice, the user enjoys 2.5 Gbps Ethernet connectivity, Realtek S1200A audio with DTS support. 

ASUS Prime B550-Plus

The ASUS Prime B550-Plus motherboard is ready to support a mid-range gaming system or serve as a solid foundation for a productivity-focused system. This model fits mid-range Ryzen chips and features heatsinks over the VRMs and chipset to ensure stability.

Dual PCIe x16 slots support CrossFireX, should you need a dual-GPU system, while the pair of M.2 slots accommodate 110 mm drives. If the USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports are not enough, the optional ASUS ThunderboltEX 3 card can be connected for even more bandwidth. The elegant design of Prime B550-Plus also fits easily into any build. 

ASUS Prime B550M-A (Wi-Fi) and B550M-K

Space in offices and bedrooms is often limited; the ASUS Prime B550M-A and B550M-K are the ideal solutions to this problem. These variants of Prime B550-Plus offer almost the same specifications but use a more compact microATX form factor. The B550M-K model lacks Wi-Fi, while the B550M-A model is available with Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi 6 via an Intel AX200 adapter.
