Fujifilm Finepix X100, price of the compact camera that challenges DSLRs

Fujifilm Finepix X100 is the compact camera that interfaces excellently with an entry-level DSLR. Here are its features and the price of the Fujifilm Finepix X100.

Fujifilm Finepix X100 is Fujifilm’s compact camera with a retro look, featuring a leatherette finish and a classic design reminiscent of decades past, complete with a magnesium alloy body and buttons.
The 2.8-inch LCD display (460,000 pixel resolution) allows users to review recently taken shots and apply functions. Regarding the sensor, it’s a 12-megapixel APS-C CMOS, supported by a Fujinon f/2 lens, comparable to a 35mm.
Arguably the biggest limitation of this camera is its fixed lens. However, in terms of image quality – and the videos it can record – it can confidently give entry-level DSLRs a run for their money.
On the other hand, one could argue that the Fujifilm Finepix X100, as a whole, distinctly stands out from other compact cameras, although it remains a niche product, certainly aimed at professionals or experienced enthusiasts.
The fact that it has a fixed lens also becomes an advantage in situations where carrying and changing lenses on the go is inconvenient.
Users can choose – via the display – whether to use the optical or electronic viewfinder, thanks to the hybrid viewfinder. Finally, an EXR processor has been chosen.
The price of Fujifilm Finepix X100 is 999 euros.
