FUJINON XF50mmF1.0 R WR is a medium telephoto prime lens ultra-bright lens with a focal length of 50mm (equivalent to 76mm in 35mm film format) and a maximum aperture of F1.0. It is the brightest interchangeable lens ever produced by Fujifilm and offers beautiful bokeh, with extremely soft, blurred backgrounds, while achieving incomparable resolving power, thanks to its large-diameter design. The lens can also be used at smaller apertures to further increase sharpness across the entire image area, thus allowing for great versatility of use.

The DC autofocus motor inside the XF50mmF1.0 allows for fast and precise autofocus even when images are captured at the maximum F1.0 aperture. Because this results in an extremely shallow depth of field, the lens can also make the most of the Face/Eye AF function of X-Series cameras to achieve maximum focus accuracy when shooting portraits, something quite difficult to achieve when focusing manually.

For occasions when manual focus is required, such as during video recording, the manual focus ring provides 120 degrees of rotation for precise and improved control and a quick traversal across the entire focus range to infinity. XF50mmF1.0 R WR is composed of 12 elements divided into 9 groups and also contains one aspherical element and two ED elements, for optimal control of spherical aberration. Used at its maximum F1.0 aperture, XF50mmF1.0 R WR can produce a surprisingly shallow depth of field. Its rounded diaphragm renders a wide and uniform bokeh for a professional look, to create portraits with amazing simplicity and an almost three-dimensional quality, with extraordinary sharpness from edge to edge. By harnessing the selective focusing capability, keeping only the subject’s eyes in focus, captivating and original images of foreground subjects can be achieved. The wide aperture of the XF50mmF1.0 R WR allows for greater flexibility in low-light conditions. The XF50mmF1.0 R WR lens allows you to easily set faster shutter speeds to freeze motion and use lower ISO settings, thus reducing noise and bringing out fine details. The world’s first F1.0 autofocus lens for mirrorless cameras

As the world’s first F1.0 autofocus lens made for a mirrorless system, including full-frame, the XF50mmF1.0 brings more light to the sensor than any previous XF lens, allowing autofocus to operate at a luminance level of -7EV. The previous limit of -6EV luminance level was achieved using lenses with a maximum aperture of F1.4. X-Series users therefore now have fast and accurate autofocus capable of working in low-light and near-dark conditions. With the added benefits of on-sensor PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), Face/Eye AF, and a powerful DC motor, you can also achieve fast and precise autofocus, even with an extremely shallow depth of field. 

Pprecise manual focus

To make the most of the shallow depth of field, focus must be particularly precise. Consequently, the XF50mmF1.0 has a focus ring eight times more accurate than any previous XF lens. This makes it possible to change focus, from minimum distance to infinity, extremely precisely. For this reason, the XF50mmF1.0 R WR is equipped with a focus ring with 120º of rotation, for error-free and impeccable manual focus when using the Focus Peaking and Focus Assist modes of your X-Series camera. The 120º rotation also makes autofocus movements particularly accurate and fast, while the lens engineering is designed to minimize focus shift effects during image composition.

Designed for the images of the future

Despite being a bright F1.0 lens, you can use the XF50mmF1.0 R WR to take stunning photos practically anywhere. With a length of 103.5mm and a weight of 845 grams, the lens is still compact and portable. Like all other weather-resistant XF lenses, it is sealed at 11 points for protection against moisture and dust, and can be used at temperatures down to -10°C.
