After the rumors, here is the confirmation: Amazon has unveiled Fire Phone.
It has been talked about more and more, and here comes all the news with official confirmation: Amazon has indeed put a smartphone into development.
After denials and then silence, the rumors we also discussed here on FullPress have taken shape during an event that allowed us to unveil all the features of the Fire Phone, Amazon’s first smartphone.
Several innovations have been introduced in general to the sector, starting with the screen which – unlike what the current trend seems to suggest – does not aim for large dimensions: the display actually has a 4.7-inch diagonal with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and is made of Gorilla Glass 3 HD material.
The processor is a 2.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon with Adreno 330 and 2 GB of RAM to support it.
The chosen operating system is Android which, just like for the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet family, is customized to offer direct links to the Amazon universe.
Two cameras: the main one is 13 megapixels, with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5-lens optical stabilizer; the secondary camera – located in the front of the device – is instead 2.1 megapixels.
The real revolution, however, lies in the set of features of this smartphone: let’s start, for example, with Firefly technology.
The device is capable of recognizing images, being able to “extract” phone numbers, QR codes, objects, CD covers, movie covers, etc… Simply point the camera to receive this information and then potentially proceed with the purchase in a few clicks directly on Amazon.
It is also confirmed that this is indeed a 3D smartphone, thanks to the technology called “Dynamic Perspective”: in practice, the device adapts to the position, tilt, and way the user looks at the screen. This will create an effect where the screens will seem to “lift” off the screen, offering a comfortable viewing angle for the user.
This is achieved through four front-facing cameras that track movements and transmit information to the system, rendering images from a novel perspective.
It will take some time before we can see Amazon’s Fire Phone in Italy: sales will actually begin in the United States.
States. As for the price of the Fire Phone, there are several options on the American market:
– without contract:
Fire Phone 32 GB: $649;
Fire Phone 32 GB: $749.
– with AT&T contract:

Fire Phone 64 GB: $299.
