Huawei P40, photography first
The Huawei P40 series continues the legacy of excellence in the series imaging. The large 1/1.28-inch sensor has a rooted pixel size measuring 2.44 ÎĽm to enormously increase light intake for improved performance in low light conditions, while a new periscope design achieves a true 10x optical zoom.
The Huawei P40 series is powered by Kirin 990 5G and supports high-speed 5G and Wi-Fi 6 Plus. The advanced hardware is housed in a beautiful and compact body with the Huawei Quad-curve Overflow Display, offering exceptional fluidity and responsiveness.

Leica Optics
The Huawei P40 series integrates the advanced Leica Ultra Vision, available in triple-camera, quad-camera, and penta-camera configurations. Huawei P40 offers exceptional photographic results with ultra-wide-angle, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses. Huawei P40 Pro features an evolution of the Leica Quad Camera with a more powerful Ultra Wide Cine camera and ToF along with 50x SuperSensing zoom. Huawei P40 Pro + allows consumers unprecedented viewing of the SuperZoom array, which supports a true 10x optical zoom and a maximum 100x digital zoom.
Sensor Huawei Ultra Vision
The Huawei Ultra Vision sensor included in the complete Huawei P40 series is Huawei’s largest CMOS sensor to date. It measures 1/1.28 inches diagonally, supports pixel binning to achieve a pixel size of 2.44 ÎĽm, and Full Pixel Octa PD AutoFocus for high-speed focusing at any time of day, while the Huawei XD Fusion Engine integrates and processes data from multiple cameras to generate a comprehensive improvement in image quality.
Skin tone and texture are faithfully reproduced by a new multi-spectrum color temperature sensor and AI AWB algorithm that increases color accuracy by 45 percent. Deep learning algorithms provide real-time portrait optimizations that enhance lighting and detail. Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro + have a 32 MP AF camera and an IR depth camera that support autofocus and Bokeh reproduction to deliver the same stunning portrait effects that are the signature of Huawei devices, as well as IR Face Unlock for unlocking the device even in low light conditions. The Huawei P40 series also introduces Huawei Golden Snap, which includes AI Best Moment, a new intelligent photography feature that picks the best frames from a moving image. AI Remove Passerby and AI Remove Reflection can eliminate unwanted subjects and frame glare.
Optical Zoom
Huawei P40 Pro brings distant subjects closer with 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and up to 50x digital zoom. For the first time ever, the Huawei P40 Pro’s 5x optical telephoto camera includes an RYYB color filter array to increase light intake and improve the quality of zoomed shots. Huawei P40 Pro + has a 100x SuperZoom array with a new periscope design that reflects light five times, extending the light path by 178 percent to support true 10x optical zoom. The optically stabilized Ultra Vision Wide camera and SuperZoom array work synergistically with AI to achieve Triple OIS + AIS for dramatically improved photo and video stabilization.
Huawei Pocket Camera
The 40 MP ultra-wide cinematic camera in Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro + has an equivalent focal length of 18 mm and a 1/1.54-inch sensor that supports a 3:2 aspect ratio. SedecimPixel Fusion technology is integrated into this camera to support 16-in-1 pixel binning, producing super pixels measuring 4.48 ÎĽm to increase light sensitivity up to ISO51200 and enable Ultra Slow Motion video capture at 7680 fps.
The Huawei P40 series supports real-time Bokeh effects for videos. Similar to the results from a wide-aperture lens, this feature adds progressive Bokeh to highlight the main subject of the footage. The telephoto lens is capable of capturing high-quality zoom footage and 4K time-lapse videos. Directional audio zoom, available on Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro +, allows users to zoom in on an audio source and amplify its sound at the same time.
Huawei, Unprecedented Design
Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro + feature the Huawei quad-curve overflow display. Inspired by the art of movement, the display takes on a curved edge on all four sides, creating a shape reminiscent of water on the verge of overflowing the brim of a full cup. Super-narrow bezels and aerodynamic rounded corners ensure an ergonomic grip and a nearly borderless appearance, while an embedded under-screen fingerprint reader offers 30% faster biometric authentication.
Available in three glossy glass finishes, Ice White, Deep Sea Blue e Black and two innovative matte refractory glass finishes, Blush Gold e Silver Frost, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 exude classic elegance from every angle. Huawei P40 Pro + features a nano-tech ceramic back panel that is fired and polished to ensure it withstands the test of time with incredible durability and timeless style. EMUI 10.1 operating system
The EMUI 10.1 operating system introduces a number of new features that enable a richer and smoother AI life. Huawei MeeTime supports 1080p Full HD video calling across Huawei smartphones, tablets, and Huawei Vision TV, and delivers crisp image quality even in low-light or weak signal conditions. Users can also share their phone screen with the person they are talking to during the video call and mark up notes to quickly share thoughts.
Huawei Share facilitates high-speed file transfer between smartphones and other devices such as tablets and PCs. With Huawei Share on the Huawei P40 series, consumers can stream music to a smart speaker, initiate screen projection, and connect to Wi-Fi by tapping the device they want to connect to with their phone. The new Multi-screen Collaboration feature allows users to easily answer hands-free video or voice calls directly through their PC and open files and hyperlinks on their smartphone with native PC applications for enhanced productivity.
