Samsung announces the upcoming release of Samsung Z1, a device equipped with the Tizen operating system.
Let’s talk again about the Tizen operating system to formalize a very interesting release that will happen soon.
It is the new Samsung smartphone whose name will be “Z1”, arriving in the coming weeks and which will be placed in the segment of terminals defined as “entry level”.
The company has decided to launch Samsung Z1 primarily on the Asian market, specifically starting with India: therefore, no further launch in other contexts has been officially announced at the moment.
It is therefore not possible to know if – and if so, when – Samsung Z1 will also be marketed in Europe, as it appears to be a device intended only for emerging countries.
In any case, the mention of this on these pages is definitely interesting, given Samsung’s obvious attempt to explore new frontiers in terms of operating systems.
Putting Android aside for a moment, the company has indeed equipped the new “Z1” with the Tizen OS: a concrete attempt to “break away” from Google and the partnership that had been created over the years.
As for the rest of the technical specifications, the choice of a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor is noteworthy, supported by 768 MB of RAM. The natively available internal memory will be 4 GB, expandable with a microSD card up to a maximum of 64 GB.
Regarding the screen, information indicates a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, while the camera setup consists of a 3.1-megapixel main camera and a secondary VGA front camera.
The 1500 mAh battery completes the package.
As already stated and as confirmed by the technical specifications of the Samsung Z1, the device is entry-level, and its price also suggests this very easily: for the purchase of this terminal, it will cost approximately the equivalent of 80 euros.
The news of the Samsung Z1’s release is not an isolated event: the Korean company, on the occasion of the presentation, also announced that in the near future other devices equipped with the proprietary Tizen operating system will arrive.
The innovations in 2015 are therefore destined to multiply; we just have to wait for further developments.
