Facebook Questions: what it is and how it works in Italy

It has also arrived in Italy the new feature Facebook Questions, an option already available on your profile that allows you to ask questions to your friends but also to friends of friends. By answering a Facebook Question, in fact, you will find the box ” Questions” on your wall. Our friends, therefore, will not only be able to answer questions posed by ourselves but will also be able to participate in surveys created by friends of friends.
A powerful viral mechanism that is spreading quickly on Italian walls.
Facebook Questions seems almost like Zuckerberg’s attempt to make his users forget about the existence of Yahoo Answer, although there is a substantial difference between the two services: Facebook Questions currently mainly allows you to conduct polls, so the answers must already be set by the person creating the question, although there is still the possibility to comment, as with a regular status update.
Yahoo Answer, on the other hand, works with questions that have open answers, thus ensuring a much wider sharing of information right from the start.
Another social network that – for the same reasons – could be compared to Yahoo Answer and to Facebook Questions è Quora, which we talked about shortly after its launch.

Using Facebook Questions is simple: first you need to activate the service, through the official page at the address http://www.facebook.com/questions/: not all profiles have automatically been updated in this regard, so simply perform manual activation to start asking questions.
You will then be directed to a “summary” page, where you can view the questions currently ongoing, incoming from friends and friends of friends.
From here on the path is simple: you can interact or propose your own Facebook Question. In this second case, just click on the icon “Question” and ask something, as invited by the same box where you can write. Just below, you can add the “poll options” (i.e., the possible answers) and finally decide whether to restrict these options to others or allow anyone who wants to respond to add an option. At this point, after completing the poll preparation, click on “Ask the question“.
The game is done: our question will appear on the personal timeline and on those of our friends who, by answering, will create a buzz allowing the poll to appear also on other timelines.
