Facebook is slowly but surely changing some usage mechanisms, especially of its internal chat Messenger.
It is learned that from today it will be possible to communicate not only with friends but also with people who are not part of your direct contacts circle.
This is not an entirely new option, in the sense that on Facebook it is already possible to send messages to “non-friends”. Depending on the privacy settings configured or based on whether or not there are connections (friends of friends), messages sent between “non-direct contacts” have so far been routed to the “Other” folder.
A section of the social network that, however, the vast majority of users do not know about or, more likely, forget to check because it is not immediately visible.
With the current novelty concerning the functioning of Facebook Messenger, however, even this type of message will have the same visibility reserved for communications that take place between friends.
The only information needed to start a private conversation will be the first and last name of the person you wish to contact: the phone number is not required.
The solution thus proposed may appeal to many users, however, there is a concrete possibility that spam levels may increase significantly.
Anyone, in this new way, will be able to reach more people through messages via Facebook Messenger, regardless of others’ privacy.

It is true that unwanted messages can be ignored or reported, so that in the future they will go directly to spam.
The opening of Facebook Messenger to everyone will be extended gradually to every account.
