Facebook Acquires Mobile Technologies: Online Translations Soon Possible

Facebook has gone shopping and acquired Mobile Technologies: it is speculated that automatic and perhaps even voice translations will arrive soon.

Facebook has added a new company to its portfolio of acquisitions, thus projecting a future enriched with new functionalities for the social network.
The blue giant has indeed acquired Mobile Technologies, a company active since 2001 working on projects for the creation of voice recognition and automatic translation technologies.
The intention of the staff leading Facebook seems very clear: to break down linguistic barriers, thus allowing for more and more interconnections between social network subscribers.
The news of the acquisition is entirely official, announced not through a press release but via the official account of Tom Stocky, Director of Product Management at Facebook.
It was he who explained that Mobile Technologies became the property of Facebook, as part of a long-term investment in programs based on voice recognition and translation technologies.
As has happened in the past, rather than directing resources into areas not directly relevant to Facebook’s core business, the decision was made to acquire the company deemed best for the objective to be pursued.

After all, Mobile Technologies is indeed a very promising company, with already well-positioned products: just think of the Jibbigo Translator app, developed by the company and among the most appreciated on the App Store.
Therefore, the fruits of this new acquisition will soon be seen: it is not yet possible to know in what form.
