There will be time until April 30th to submit a Start Up project. Everything must be done directly on the Digithon portal with a digital presentation of the project idea. Ten topics and 100 projects will be supported:

  • media;
  • game;
  • culture;
  • finance;
  • food and tourism;
  • commerce;
  • healthcare;
  • music;
  • security;
  • cross idea.
The projects will be discussed during the four-day event, from June 23rd to 26th, which will be held in Puglia. “Digithon is the bet we want to launch: transforming the South, starting from Puglia, into the place where everything is possible.” fannounced in a statement the President of Hackathon, Francesco Boccia “We have pressed the ON button and from April 1st to 30th, young people, start-ups, and everyone who has an idea connected to the digital economy can try. It is not necessary to go to Cupertino or Silicon Valley to find investors, but it will be the major national and international investors who, from June 23rd to 26th, will gather in Puglia to evaluate, from the audience of Digithon, the 100 projects we will select in the coming weeks. All the key players in the digital economy have joined Digithon: the Over The Tops, from Facebook to Google, the major Italian companies from Mediaset to Rai, from Poste to Telecom and many others. And then the local banks, the investment funds, the top management of Borsa Italiana and Consob will also be present to try to understand who and how invests in ideas.“. “With Digithon– Boccia then continued –, Puglia becomes, for 4 days a year, the capital of the digital economy. Cultural exchanges, starting with the Rai-Mediaset debate on the future of publishing in the digital age, to the strategies of Facebook, Google, Twitter and many others, will characterize the evenings that will accompany the hackathon dedicated to the 100 projects to be funded. It is a great bet that we wanted to launch together with Confindustria Bari-Bat, a valuable partner in this adventure, and the many young and enterprising entrepreneurs“.

Four exceptional locations will host the Hackathon marathon next June: TheSvevo Castle of Traniand Barletta, the Castel Del Monte of Andria and the Vecchia Segheria Mastrototaro of Bisceglie.
