Nikon Talents: photography contest launched

This year, there are 5 thematic categories for participants of Nikon Talents 2016 to interpret:

Until June 30, 2016each user can upload their portfolio consisting of 3 photographs in the chosen categories (if participating in multiple categories, they can only be declared a winner in one).

To participate, simply register on the websitewww.nikonclub.itand, during the contest period, upload the following elements to the dedicated website –www.nikontalents.itelements:

– their biography;

– a portrait or avatar of themselves;

– a photographic portfolio consisting of three photos for each thematic category.

At the end of the contest, a technical jury, composed of communication and photography experts, will examine all the photographs received within the validity period and will award a Nikon D5500 with NIKKOR 18-140mm lens, a DSLR with built-in Wi-Fi and a vari-angle touchscreen, to each of the five thematic categories, one for each author of each category whose portfolio is deemed most deserving based on the following criteria: relevance to the proposed thematic category, originality of the shot, expressive capacity, and image quality.

Furthermore, the technical jury will select the following “special” winners:

– the overall winner among those in each of the five thematic categories, awarding them a voucher worth €3,000.00 for Nikon products.

– among all participants under 30 years of age, the best young photographer, who will receive a voucher worth €2,000.00 for Nikon products.

– the most “Different” photographer, author of the portfolio deemed most original in terms of interpretation of the proposed theme, who will win a voucher worth €2,000.00 for Nikon products.

But that’s not all: at the end of the contest, the user who obtains the highest number of votes from visitors to the website www.nikontalents.it within each of the five thematic categories will be awarded a Nikon D3300 + 18-55mm kit, a 24.2 MP DSLR that is powerful, lightweight, and easy to use.

In case of a tie between two or more participants, the technical jury will intervene to declare the winner.

“We believed,” declares Valentino Bertolini, Marketing & Communication General Manager of Nital, “that the Nikon Talents contest, a success for 3 years to be proud of, needed a profound renewal. It is in the nature of the imaging sector and in the DNA of Nital S.p.A. to continuously introduce innovations and always seek new sources of inspiration.

This year, we have thus introduced the public jury, opened up participation to all photographers, and proposed 5 interesting and stimulating thematic categories. We have kept an eye on young people with the dedicated award for participants under 30, and we have included the special “Different” award, in line with the Nikon I AM DIFFERENT slogan.

We expect a large participation and high quality for each portfolio, testifying to the ability of many “talents” to best exploit the technical and creative potential offered by a camera.
