Apple chooses Naples to open app development center

Apple may be interested in investing in Naples, in view of the opening of an app development center.

Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has officially announced that a major hi-tech company would be launching a very important project in Italy.
The Premier has indeed triumphantly announced that Apple would be interested in establishing a laboratory headquarters in Naples: this will be the headquarters in Italy (and more broadly in Europe) where new experimental projects will come to life.
This will indeed be the first app development center on the entire Old Continent, which will likely be located in Bagnoli, in the spaces previously used by the now defunct NATO Base.
However, there is still no official confirmation on this point, although the president of the regional council Vincenzo De Luca has stated that the preference for Bagnoli should not be excluded. This likely indicates that there are already projects or negotiations underway in this direction.
A strategic point, but above all a real hub of creativity and innovation signed by Apple, for the training of future developers.
Naturally, it is still too early to glean details about the actual functioning of this “highly specialized” school; according to what Matteo Renzi announced, these Apple labs will gather a user and work base, in various capacities, which should amount to around 600 people.
Such an estimate suggests it will be an articulated structure, designed almost like a campus; a reality hypothetically projected into the long-term future – based on these scarce details provided – as structuring spaces for about 600 people will require significant investment and undisputed basic motivation.
The news is certainly welcome and at the same time unexpected; it should also be noted that – apparently – the major global technology giants seem to have noticed not only Italy but – more specifically – Campania in particular.

The company Cisco, for example, is launching a “network academy” project in Scampia these very days. Another very important piece for the overall vitality under the shadow of Vesuvius.
New and further details regarding Apple’s projects in this area are therefore expected: certainly in the coming days, following the meeting between Tim Cook and Matteo Renzi, new details may emerge.
However, given the scale of the overall project, a long gestation phase can be hypothesized, which must be taken into account.
