Google yesterday introduced the possibility to change the background image of its homepage, while starting this morning, photos, decorations, and photographic shots are being shown automatically. Hasn’t all this been seen before? Of course: on its pseudo-rival Bing.
Cultivated fields, a desert, trees, frozen lakes, artistic objects, various doodles, and who knows what other images Google will offer us in the coming months. A new change for the search engine that, after scrambling SERPs and rankings following the rollout of Google Caffeine, is starting to focus on the aesthetic factor as well. This time, however, it arrived late, perhaps taking inspiration from BING, the eternal second (or perhaps third?) competitor. If you’re not satisfied with the Google backgrounds offered randomly, simply click on “Change background image” in the bottom left corner and, by logging in with your Google Account, you can choose from about forty other images or decide to upload your own photos from Picasa. Another alternative is offered by the possibility to select an image directly from your PC. Total customization that is very simple to apply to make your Google Home background unique and to please the navigator’s eyes. A move that will satisfy those bored by white and will make smile those who expect from Google the same originality that it profusely advises.
