Google Nexus 7: prices and official release announced, video

Google announces the release of its first tablet: Google Nexus 7 is ready, here are the prices set for sale.

Only the official announcement was missing after the leaks about Google Nexus 7, the first tablet branded Google and, timely during the Google I/O event, it has arrived. Google Nexus 7 is indeed ready to be released at truly very competitive prices compared to tablets currently on the market.
Also confirmed is the presence of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google’s brand-new operating system that will soon “replace” the still new Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
There aren’t many new details compared to the leaks also discussed on FullPress pages: indeed, the tablet will be 7 inches and will have a touch screen with a resolution of 1280X800 pixels.
1 GB of RAM, two storage options (there is indeed an 8 GB version and a 16 GB one), confirmation of the powerful quad-core Tegra 3 processor and a 12-core graphics CPU complete the picture, which was already largely outlined in previous days.
It is worth highlighting, regarding connectivity, that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules are installed: no sign of 3G, however, the device includes the system enabling NFC technology use, for quick payments in stores equipped with the appropriate recognition tool.
Naturally, the default browser can only be Chrome and the reference store for apps and multimedia content is Google Play.
Regarding the battery, it was announced on the Google I/O stage that the new tablet has a standby time of 300 hours and 8/9 hours of full use.

The weight is 340 grams: even less than the weight of a Kindle Fire.
And precisely the Kindle Fire is officially the first of the direct competitors of the new Google Nexus 7: this is clearly deduced from the selling price set by Google.
These are the prices for Google Nexus 7:
Google Nexus 7 8 GB: 199 euros;
Google Nexus 7 16 GB: 249 euros.
A credit of $25 to be spent on apps and services within a specific period will also be given as a gift.
As for sales, you can already pre-orderGoogle Nexus 7 on the Google Store: deliveries will begin in mid-July, with priority for the US, Canadian, and Australian markets.
Subsequently,Nexus 7 will also arrive in the rest of Europe. In the meantime, here is the presentation video forGoogle Nexus 7.
