The Polaroid is back but with a completely new design: with the Polaroid Z2300 it is also possible to print photos instantly. Here are the price and features.
Soon there will probably be talk again about Polaroid and digital photographs yet ready for instant printing: with Polaroid Z2300, the new model from the legendary photography company, all this will be possible.
The Polaroid Z2300 is equipped with a 10-megapixel sensor and it is worth considering that the lens is fixed: there is not even the possibility to zoom on subjects and landscapes in search of details.
The image output can be previewed via the display, a 3-inch screen on which it is also possible to view the videos just recorded in HD.
It is also possible to increase the camera’s internal memory, since there is a slot to insert an SD card up to a maximum of 32 GB.
The only real peculiarity of Polaroid Z2300 is the presence of an internal printer – called ZINK – which does not require cartridges to operate: the name, indeed, stands for “zero ink”, meaning zero ink.
The printing operation works effectively thanks to the special paper created to allow instant printing: its name is “ZINK Photo Paper“.
These sheets are made up of multiple layers, within which are contained the colors: this explains why there are no cartridges inside the camera.
Inside the Polaroid Z2300 sales package there are 10 sheets of this paper, as well as a USB cable and a rechargeable battery.
Naturally it is possible to avoid printing the shots and transfer them to the PC or other storage devices: the printing step is absolutely optional.
However, it should be noted that the Polaroid Z2300 – considered as a common digital camera – does not hold up very well compared to other entry-level cameras: even the fixed lens alone would discourage many from purchasing.
It is therefore the internal printer that marks the peculiarity of this camera.
As for the price of the Polaroid Z2300, it is currently on sale in the United States for 159 dollars.
