A new update is coming to WhatsApp, currently only for iOS: you can reply to messages without opening the app.
The messaging app WhatsApp brings a very important new feature to its users.
It is understood that the latest update will allow users to reply to received messages without necessarily having to log into the app itself.
At the moment, this major innovation will only affect iOS users and, more specifically, all Apple device owners running iOS version 9.1.
As for the WhatsApp upgrade, it is version 2.12.1, specifically for iOS.
This revolutionary feature will have a dual effect: once a message arrives on your smartphone’s lock screen, you can start writing a reply without opening WhatsApp. Simply swipe the notification to the left to see the “Reply” option appear. Continuing will bring up the virtual keyboard as usual.
The second effect can be useful for those who are particularly concerned about their privacy: with this new feature, the reply can be sent without the recipient seeing the sender as “online”.
Therefore, even though you can reply, your “online” or “typing…” status will not be visible in any way, as the action is not performed directly within the app.
It is not yet known when the update will be available for Android users as well.
