The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse is a fitness tracker intended for the “masses” due to its very low price.
Time for new wearable presentations: this time it’s Xiaomi’s turn, with the launch of a new “bracelet” for physical activity and sports.
The name of the new accessory is Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse and it is therefore a fitness tracker whose main characteristic that immediately stands out even to a distracted buyer is undoubtedly the price.
The Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse actually costs only the equivalent of about 15 euros: a decidedly very low price.
The new Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse model remains faithful to the aesthetic tradition of the company itself, as the design is practically the exact same as the previous model.
However, this time the overall dimensions of the wearable had to be increased – albeit very slightly – for a very good reason.
On the new Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse model, in fact, a heart rate monitor has been included, the real novelty of this fitness tracker.
Its predecessor was indeed lacking it, therefore – while keeping a very low price – Xiaomi was able to make important modifications to the product.
In this way, heartbeats can be monitored during training sessions.
The materials used are a magnesium and aluminum alloy for what we could call the casing. The strap, on the other hand, is made of a thermoplastic elastomer.
As for connectivity, a Bluetooth 4.0 module has been adopted to receive all notifications.
It should be noted that the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse does not have a display: there are only three small bright LEDs to signal the fitness tracker’s activities.
The data is then processed elsewhere, thanks to synchronization via app, possible for both Android and iOS devices.
Finally, the company has equipped the device with a 45 mAh battery which, according to estimates from the development staff, should be able to ensure an autonomy of about 20 days.
At the time of writing, a release date for the Xiaomi Mi Band Pulse in Europe has not yet been made official, while the release in its reference markets will start tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
